About Vorkurs
Vorkurs is an independent experiment in growing a visual language from rules and human taste alone, named after the Bauhaus foundation course. No image-generating AI and no existing artwork are involved.
How it works
- Each image is a genome: shapes and lines on a ground, a colour scheme, and switches for relationships such as alignment, echo and overlap.
- You pick the one you prefer. Each pick is one comparison.
- Strong images are bred with one or two small edits, with fresh random images mixed in for novelty.
- Simple models rank the images and find which qualities predict a win, for the group and for you.
What a vote records
- The two images as rule settings, and which one you picked
- Which side it was on and how long you took
- Any tags you add, and the link you arrived by
- A random voter ID kept in your browser, so your picks can form your profile
No names, emails or accounts. No cookies or analytics, though the hosting providers keep standard server logs. Votes are anonymous and may be published in aggregate.
